Gavin Guttersen - CTO

ImageAs success stories go, Gavin Guttersen’s start was more dynamic than some.

While still in his early teens Gavin decided the fort he had build in the back yard needed electricity.  While rigging a line from the laundry room’s 220 volt connection he fried several appliances, nearly burnt down the house and had a personal shocking experience that gave him a new respect for electricity.

Jump forward a bunch of years and you find him hanging out on the beaches of Southern California, running sound for some local bands and learning how to make things electrical work.

Another jump forward puts him in a Radio Shack in North Carolina supporting the expansion of computer use in the educational sector.  Through this opportunity he met both Erik Wells and Wendell Troy.  Together they began offering school systems a way of setting up a network that would let all of the different brands of computers talk to each other within a school system.  The business took off and the three partners started running miles of cable through school systems in the Northeastern part of North Carolina.

Today, under the guidance of Gavin’s technical abilities, Schoollink maintains two fiber optic networks which are owned by Schoollink’s parent company, Jagwire Inc. along with a host of advance product offerings under both the Schoollink and Jagwire banner.

Gavin has always realized the importance of each question asked by each customer served and has kept a support service staff that is knowledgeable and customer oriented.
Gavin, and the entire Schoollink team realize that in todays fast-moving technology arena, knowledge and service are usually the key advantage to client acquistion and retention.

Gavin is a family man involved with his children.  He is active with the Roanoke Rapids Chamber of Commerce and currently serves as Chairman.  Gavin also sits on the boards for Lakeland Arts Center and The Halifax Arts Council.

Weekends find him at some amusement park, looking for the biggest, fastest rides he can find.  He also owns Party Town, serving the Roanoke Rapids area with private recreational services.
